Japanese bronze inlaid vase in high relief, with a kirin walking among clouds finely carved with shakudo and gold eyes, signed in a square reserve Hidemitsu kansei 秀光監製 (supervised by Hidemitsu), Meiji Period (1868-1912).
The Kirin is a mythological creature symbolic of goodness and purity with a dragon and deer like features, when it appears is a good omen bringing prosperity and peace.
