Japanese bronze inlaid vase with an eagle perched on rocks and crushing waves beneath, on a rich brown ground with finely carved details, the eyes inlaid in shakudo and gold signed with chiselled characters Shuho koku 秀峰刻 (engraved by Shuho), late Meiji Period (1868-1912).
Bearing inscription: Zo Nitto Tire Kabushiki-Gaisha, Kabushiki-Gaisha Maruesu Shokai 贈日東タイヤ株式会社 株式会社マルエス商会 (gift from the Nitto Tire and Maruesu Company).
