Japanese oviform bronze vase the body decorated with a wild goose flying under the full moon which represents the peak of the Autumn season, worked in silver, shakudo and gold, signed in chiselled characters Iida sei 飯田製, Meiji period 1868-1912.

The goose 雁 appears frequently in Japanese folk tales, poems and literature and was often featured in paintings on folding screens.
