Japanese pair of bronze ducks one is preening its feathers while the other is standing, eyes inlaid in shakudo and gold and featherwork finely carved with a rich brown patination, signed in a rectangular reserve Takachika 隆親, Meiji period 1868-1912.

The artist Sano Takachika 佐野隆親 was a member of the Tokyo Chokokai
and in 1894 exhibited at the Nihon Bijutsu Kyokai. He also worked for the Imperial family and is recorded in the M. Tomkinson Collection 'A Japanese collection' 1898.
