Japanese inlaid silver vase of baluster form worked in katakiri-bori and honzogan of gold, shakudo and shibuichi with geese wading through rippling waters beneath reeds and bamboo branches signed to the body in chiselled characters Masatada 政忠 and stamped to the underside with the mark Jungin 純銀 (pure silver) with fitted wood stand and tomobako storage box, Taishō period (1912-1926).

Geese are often shown in pairs and are symbolic of loyalty and marital happiness.
