Japanese cloisonné enamel by Hayashi Chuzō Meiji period

Japanese cloisonné enamel vase finely worked in silver wire with a pair of Manchurian cranes on a shore above crushing waves and another crane flying above, on a cream ground the foot bordered with stylised flowers applied with copper gilt mounts with the Hayashi Chuzō mark, Meiji period (1868-1912).

The artist Hayashi Chuzō was active from 1860 to 1920. He exhibited at the San Francisco Exposition in 1915 and won a silver award at the International Exhibition in Liège in 1905.
