Japanese cloisonne' enamel vase finely worked with a pair of quails beneath morning glory flowers, one is scratching its head while the other is standing, signed under the silver mount with the mark of Tamura III 田村 (Ota Yukio), Shōwa period circa 1945.

The quail 鶉 (uzura) is symbolic of the Autumn season, and also of courage and victory in battle.
