Japanese pair of cloisonné enamel vases worked in silver wire decorated with shield shaped panels and ho-o mythical birds, applied with silver mounts, signed in katakana script Kuhn and Komor クンコモル, Meiji period 1868-1912.

Kuhn and Komor (1897-1919) in the late 19th Century made high quality decorative objects for the Western market which were often given as diplomatic gifts by the Japanese government. The company was regarded
as the equivalent to Asprey London in Asia.
